With nearly 9 miles of volunteer-maintained
trails and scenic views, Mt. Nittany offers
a unique setting for local recreation. Since
1981, we have been working hard to protect
Mt. Nittany from commercial and residential
development by acquiring land and maintaining
areas already under the Conservancy's ownership.

Joseph
V. Paterno 1926-2012
The Mount Nittany Conservancy
along with the rest of the
Penn State community would
like to offer our condolences
to the Paterno family.
Among
Joseph Vincent Paterno's many
accomplishments, he was also
there at the founding of the
Mount Nittany Conservancy.
As a Director Emeritus of
this organization, his support
of the foundling Conservancy
ensured that Mt. Nittany stands
today over this saddened,
but still happy valley, because
he choose to make his life
here.
The
Paterno family has asked that
donations be made to the Special
Olympics of Pennsylvania or
Penn State THON.
For
the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania,
