Welcome to Mt. Nittany!
Located in the heart of Central Pennsylvania
With nearly 9 miles of volunteer-maintained trails and scenic views, Mt. Nittany offers a unique setting for local recreation. Since 1981, we have been working hard to protect Mt. Nittany from commercial and residential development by acquiring land and maintaining areas already under the Conservancy's ownership.

In Memorium

Joseph V. Paterno 1926-2012

The Mount Nittany Conservancy along with the rest of the Penn State community would like to offer our condolences to the Paterno family.

Among Joseph Vincent Paterno's many accomplishments, he was also there at the founding of the Mount Nittany Conservancy. As a Director Emeritus of this organization, his support of the foundling Conservancy ensured that Mt. Nittany stands today over this saddened, but still happy valley, because he choose to make his life here.

Pictures of the processsion here.

-Mount Nittany Conservancy Board

The Paterno family has asked that donations be made to the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania or Penn State THON.

For the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania, donations can be mailed to: 2570 Boulevard of the Generals, Suite 124, Norristown, PA 19403; or donate by calling Special Olympics Pennsylvania's office at 1-800-235-9058 during regular business hours.

For THON, checks should be made payable to the Penn State Dance Marathon and sent to the THON office at: THON, Attn: Finance, 210 HUB, University Park, PA 16802.

Donors are asked to indicate that gifts are being made in memory of Joe Paterno.
